Japanese auto brand, Toyota, has confirmed that the delivery of its all-new 300 Series 2022 Land Cruiser which already has about 21,500 pre orders, will be delayed for four years due to parts shortage.
It could be recalled that in September 2021, there were rumors across automotive platforms that buyers may have to wait for up to four years before the vehicles are delivered. The rumor sprang up as a result of the announcement made by Toyota Australia, about the production of the vehicle has been halted during August and September 2021, due to COVID-19 restrictions in Southeast Asia, which caused parts shortages.
However, Toyota has confirmed the long wait by putting an apology on its Japanese site for the SUV, which its translation reads, “Thank you very much for considering and ordering our vehicles. The Land Cruiser has been very well received in Japan and around the world. We sincerely apologize that it will take a long time to deliver the Land Cruiser to you after you place an order. We sincerely apologize for this.
“If you place an order now, the delivery time may be up to 4 years. We will do our utmost to shorten the delivery time for our customers. We appreciate your understanding in this matter.”
Within just a couple of months of launching the new Land Cruiser, Toyota already reported that there was so much demand that the wait times were going to be about a year. Since then, even more people have apparently expressed interest in the new SUV.
Similarly, Toyota also confirmed that the delivery date of the Land Cruiser 300 may change depending on the production situation in the future.
Toyota biggest challenge since the launch of the new-generation 300 Series last year was keeping up with demand, forcing it to work, day and night to fulfill orders.
